Ty! It's not actually retriggering. It's microscopically small cut-paste operations that I made and then saved to clip once I had a sound I liked, and continued expanding that through the track, starting with the intro sample and the drums. I used to use a more simplified version of this mouse-click editing like a decade ago, and it's still my favorite way to sample!
